YEA Update in relation to Covid 19
Following recent developments in Ireland in relation to Covid 19, ECO-UNESCO is making the following announcements. (Please note that these may be subject to change given the fast-moving nature of current events)
We have been impressed by the record number of submissions this year as well as the high quality and impact of many of your projects. We recognise the tremendous work you have put in to your projects and the effort you have put in to your online portfolio submissions. We encourage you to continue with your projects as far as you are able. In turn, we intend to proceed with the programme to the best of our ability within the current constraints.
ECO-UNESCO will go ahead and select winners for YEA 2020. These are due be announced online on 21st May 2020. Winners will be selected based on their online submission as well as their Eco-Den presentations assuming that these go ahead. In the case that they do not, then selection will be based solely upon online submissions. Certificates, prizes and trophies will be awarded. We hope to celebrate your successes more fully at an event in the Autumn.
All groups who were selected as semi-finalists and invited to attend the Eco-Dens will have access to their Submission Folders until 3rdApril 2020. Please let us know immediately if you are not able to access your folder.
ECO-UNESCO has regretfully postponed the YEA Regional ECO-Dens. We will continue to review the situation and will issue further communications on this.
We do hope to re-schedule the ECO-Dens for 27th April – 6thMay with our booking system open on 20th April.
In order to minimise the impact on mentor and participant schedules when schools re-open, we intend to host judging panels in our ECO-UNESCO offices and conduct the ECO-Dens online, via Skype, Google Hangouts or similar services.
Obviously, this is highly dependent on unfolding events and a final decision will be announced no later than 20th April 2020.
FINAL SHOWCASE & AWARDS
Regrettably, ECO-UNESCO will not be hosting our annual Final Showcase & Awards Ceremony scheduled for 21st May 2020.
Instead we hope to host a Celebratory Event in Autumn 2020. We will send out information as soon as we can.
We regret that these decisions have been taken, however we feel that it is the appropriate response in the interests of protecting the wellbeing of all who would be attending these events.
If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to email us on email@example.com
